DARTS IN SEWING.

I don't really like sewing darts because I get tired especially when I am adding lining to a fabric. But I have come to discover that they are very necessary if you want fit on your dresses.
A dart is  a folded wedge or tuck, made by folding a part of the fabric inwards and stitching it. They are mostly found in women's clothing and are used to give fitting to a dress or garment which is their functional purpose. They can also help to bring out a design in a garment.  
The main parts in dart are the top, center and or bottom. The wideness of the center determines the fit of the dress. There are different types of darts used in dress making such as;

If you read my last post I mentioned the use of a pencil and paper to draw out the end result of what you want to make. Today we are going to start with constructing the simplest of all, a bodice. A bodice is basically a top without sleeves as seen in the picture below.
